The Autodromo Prototipo makes its triumphant return! First released in 2014, the Prototipo was a tribute to the heyday of racing chronographs. Featuring a barrel-case that comes in at 42mm x 48mm x 11.5mm thick, these were bold watches with a late ‘60s / early ‘70s flair that were beautifully finished with radial brushing and accented with contrasting pushers. Crisp, clean dials with a mathematical precision gave them a distinctive Autodromo edge.
For the joint 10th anniversaries of Worn & Wound and Autodromo, we’ve created a special limited edition version of the Prototipo with a sleek style. Riffing off of a previous collaboration, this version is rendered in smokey gray tones with a couple of flashes of blue. The case is coated in gun-metal plating and features a mix of brushing and matte blasted details. The dial is a matching gray with a subtle metallic finish. Indexes in black and white are easy to read, while the occasional blue highlight stands out. The watch is finished with a gray suede rally strap that suits its style perfectly.
The case-back features our 10th-anniversary logo, as well as the number of the watch out of 150.
The Autodromo x Worn & Wound Prototipo LE is powered by the Seiko VK63 Meca-Quartz Chronograph caliber. This Japanese-made hybrid movement mixes a mechanical chronograph mechanism with quartz time regulation, for the best of both worlds. The chronograph center-hand sweeps at 1/5th second intervals for smooth motion and all hands instantly reset. Additionally, you’ll find a 60-minute totalizer at the nine position, a 24-hour hand at three, and active seconds at six. Battery life is approximately 36 months.
