2.5 Ring Eggbutt by Bombers Bits – Control Plate is set at 45° to follow the contour of the horses tongue.
Consequently, a horse who uses his tongue as a means of pushing against the bit and therefore taking control, will draw back and tuck his chin in, coming back to a better point of control. This differs from a Dr Bristol which sits horizontally with the edge of the plate on the tongue.
A Ring cheek piece introduces poll pressure as well creating leverage on the mouthpiece, the 2 ½ ring version is the softest version of ring bit as the ½ ring softens the leverage on the mouthpiece and poll.
The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and also introduces some poll pressure.
Please note these bits are made of sweet iron.
Bits are non-returnable.
